Still, as CFO.com Magazine reports today, there is a dearth of opportunities currently. Under the title, "S&P Distressed Debt Hits 8-Year Low," the article notes that distressed debt "has been declining since February and hit its lowest level since 1998 this month." Currently S&P counts 120 companies with bonds trading at distressed levels. The outlook for recovery rates have also risen. Most of them are in the automotive sector, health care, media and entertainment, telecommunications and consumer products.
